RealGood Super Drift Matsuri

Event Description

Wreck it Sideways and Drifted.nl are proud to announce the first edition of a new event, to know:

RealGood Super Drift Matsuri

Event
Contrary to the majority of RC Drift events, RealGood focuses on the team aspect of the sport. More akin to a grassroots drifting event in Japan or the US, where tandem drifting among team members is much more prominent, drivers are forced to push their skills, not only as individuals, but as a team as well. This Event will focus on this element. Besides this, the event will be a cozy meeting, where people can drive as much as they want. There will be no individual competition, but there will be some team drift games, in which style will be a huge factor for the judges. These team drift games will be announced soon. Team Wreck it Sideways will be judging these games.

Awards
Beside some awards for the winners of the various drift games, we will have a special award: the Team Spirit Award. The criteria for this award include team livery, team clothing, and appearance.

Individuals
You don’t need to be in a team to take part in this event. You can sign in as an individual. If you like you could create an occasional team with other individuals.

Registration
The registration is open on www.realgooddrifting.com.

The Format
Teams have to sign in throughout the day. You will have to sign in 3 to 4 drivers per team and give your team a name.

Battles will be done following a traditional battle scheme (Top 8 or Top 16 depending on the amount of entries).

There will be no qualifying session. This is to save time and keep the track open longer for those who want to practice or do not take part in the Team Challenge.
When the competition starts, the first team will draw a team name out of a hat and that will be their opponent for the first battle. Two more names will be drawn from the hat and they will be the second battle, and so on. This way we will fill in the first battles in the top8/top16 battle scheme.

In a battle, each team will get two runs to try and get the highest score possible. The judges will score each run with 0 to 100 points, with a 100 points being a perfect run. The team with the highest total score over two runs wins the battle and moves on to the next stage in the battle scheme.

Judging Criteria
Foremost the judges will be looking for a well coordinated run. This means that all team drivers are adapting to each other well, and the timing amongst each other is perfect. Also the judges are looking for style and flair. Something unique that sets your team apart from the rest. This can be anything along the lines of aggressive driving style, impeccable technique, well coordinated overtaking manoeuvres or any other stunt.
There will be an ideal driving line set out on the track, however for this competition it is only a suggestion to follow that line**. You are free to choose any line you want to drive, but keep in mind that your runs need to be clean to impress the judges. Hopefully this will give each team the freedom to show their own style.
Basic mistakes you probably already know from other competitions like for instance running way too far off track, spinning/crashing, steering/angle corrections and a big distance between each cars will be penalized by the judges.
The judges decision is final and is not open for discussion. They will however be happy to give you an explanation on why they chose the winner.

There will be a drivers briefing at the start of the competition, with the opportunity to ask questions.

**: The ideal line is more important during practice sessions to make sure it will not be complete madness out on the track with everyone driving different lines and speeds. Please respect each other and give some space when needed.

What if you don’t have a team?
Throughout the day it is possible to make impromptu teams just for the competition. We will try to help you where we can to find some awesome teammates. The competition will be run later in the day, so you have plenty of time to practice with your new buddies for life. Please let us know as early as possible if you want to enter the competition but need team members. (Even send us a message on Facebook right now if you can!)

Travel Information

For those who want to plan the trip Edwin(from Drifted) combined some info so you can plan your trip:

Car
Best option is to travel by car. Most easy and most flexible.

Plane
There are 2 options for airports. Schiphol Amsterdam offers the most connections but Eindhoven is a bit closer and normally more easy because its smaller. Amsterdam - Schiphol: 106km / 1:05 hour driving Eindhoven airport - 43km / 0:35 hour driving Both offer rental cars at the airport. I always use this to book: http://www.rentalcars.com

Public Transport
From both airports you have 2 options to travel. The trip will be a train to or Den Bosch or Tilburg. Advised is to travel via Tilburg because this give a direct bus connection to "Bus stop Sprang Kruispunt, Sprang-Capelle". That bus stop is only 4 minutes walking form the track location. Plan your train on: http://www.ns.nl/en Plan your bus on: http://9292.nl/en

Hotels / Sleeping Places
In Waalwijk there are 2 hotels:
NH Hotel is super close like 5 minutes walking only.

Or if you want a super cheap option try this bungalow par that is also super close:

And if you have questions feel free to ask.
